Photography AlUla

I was commissioned to document the culture, heritage, nature and archaeology of AlUla, a World Heritage site, in Saudi Arabia. The landscape of AlUla is beautiful - vast desert scenes broken up by vertical sandstone cliffs, the tops of which have been scorched black by the sun and have cracked.

While I was there I photographed an archaeological dig at Dadan where temples and buildings of a lost Arab kingdom from 800 B.C were being revealed to the world for the first time in hundreds of years.

At Mada'in Saleh there were hundreds of tombs carved deep into sandstone rocks in what was the second largest Nabotean city after Petra.
